First Draft · Winter 26 · Toronto

Running apparel built for winter, and a journal for what the miles shake loose.

First Draft · Winter 26

It isn't finished. Neither are you.

Eight pieces built for a Toronto February, with one real idea in each.

Nobody sees your February miles.

Write them down.

How it's made

One real idea per piece.

01 · Split Cuff

Check your splits. Keep your sleeve.

Your watch reads your pulse from your skin, so it has to sit under the sleeve. We cut a window over it. The heartbeat line runs down the arm and ends where your real one shows.

02 · Invisible Ink

Only sweat can write it.

Dry, it's a plain grey tee. As you warm up the fabric darkens and the logo appears, then fades again as it dries. You write it by running.

03 · The Refrain

Lined in satin. Kind to curls.

A short, close skull cap with no cuff to ride up. The ember satin lining cuts friction, which almost no running hat thinks about.

The ritual

Run. Then write.

Ten quiet minutes after the run, while your head is still clear. One prompt, one page. That's the whole practice.

One
Run. Any distance, any pace.
Two
Write. Ten minutes, one prompt, one page.
Three
Repeat. The journal holds twelve weeks.
